Daniel 3:16 - 18 (NKJV)
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."

Each of us, each day, have our faith tested, for some our faith is stretched to the max as we stare down crippling and deadly diseases, others meet head on the death of their mortal body as they face a rope, a bullet, or a sword, and for many it is as simple as refusing to listen to an off color joke or remaining quiet when someone takes the name of our Lord in vain

Jesus set the bar high for us when He proclaimed

Luke 22:41 & 42 (NKJV)
And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and prayed, saying, "Father, if it is Your will take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will but Yours, be done."

Our faith must be that God's promise is forever and we will forever be with Him, His children, His family, whom He loves

And His promise is to always be by our side

Daniel 3:25 (NKJV)
"Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

Abba, Father as King David taught us to pray, our trust our faith must always be in You and You will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5 & 6); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Revelation 19:7 - 9 (NKJV)
"Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'" And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

God has a wonderful plan for our lives and His plan is His wonderful promise to each of us - Jesus is the Savior of the world, My children believe in Him and be My family today, tomorrow, and forever

Abba, Father we have an Advocate with You and His name is Jesus Christ the righteous and through Him we became Your righteous and beloved children (1 John 2:1 & 2); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 12:1 & 2 (NKJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Colossians 3:1 - 3 (NKJV)
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Do you know what she did? Can you believe he said that? Our government is out of control! I fear we are heading for some really tough times! Typical worldly conversations most of us engage in daily.

Do you know Jesus? Do you know how much Jesus loves you? Can you see the love of Jesus in me?

Abba, Father may we this day lift our eyes to You, that we might truly know and comprehend the love of Christ so that we may be filled with the fullness of You (Ephesians 3:19), we are Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which You prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10), may we daily be transformed by setting our mind on things above and may our walk be evidence of You; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 14:17 (NKJV)
For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 (NKJV)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Titus 2:11 - 14 (NKJV)
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that , denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

It is all about Jesus who through His Spirit has filled us with His joy and His peace and made us righteous in His sight, in Him we have hope and in Him we represent hope to others

Abba, Father, joy to the world, peace on earth, good will to all, thank You for Jesus, the eraser of darkness, the hope of us all; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Merry Christmas

Matthew 16:13 - 18 (NKJV)
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."

"Who do you say I am?" Jesus still asks each of  us the same question today, and all too often the answers are vague, indifferent, or simply nonexistent

1 John 5:5 (NKJV)
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Jesus is the difference between life and death, between overcoming and being destroyed (John 10:10) and the truth is as simple as making the right choice - falling in love with Jesus and keeping your love of Him fresh in your life

Abba, Father You gave us Jesus and we are forever thankful, in Him was life, and the life was the light of men (John1:4), may our lives be the light that penetrates the darkness of the world so that all will fall in love with Jesus and we will be essential building blocks of Your church; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Revelation 21:22 - 27 (NKJV)
But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it,. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

For those who believe in Jesus, for those who have confessed Jesus as their Lord and their Savior, our future is bright, Jesus is forever the Light of our lives

Abba, Father we believe in our heart and we confess with our mouth Jesus the Christ, our Lord and our Savior (Romans 10:9), and it is in the name of Jesus the Christ that every knee should bow and that every tongue should confess (Philippians 3:10 & 11) that we pray giving glory to You our God and our Father. Amen.

Matthew 1:18 - 25 (NKJV)

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." So all this was done that if might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated "God with us." Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS,

Joseph was a "just man;" we could use more Joseph's in our world today

Immanuel - God with us - today, tomorrow and forever - what a wonderful promise

Abba, Father, You so loved that You gave that who ever would believe would not perish but would be with You forever (John 3:16); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Luke 1:26 - 38 (NKJV)
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end." Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered and said. to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will over shadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born to you will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." Then Mary said, "Behold the maid servant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

A young teen age girl is visited by an angel and told that she has been favored by God and about to become supernaturally pregnant and give birth to the Son of God, although she is engaged to be married to Joseph It is highly likely that they have not shared their first kiss, and yet she has the spiritual maturity to proclaim to the angel, "Behold the maid servant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word."

Abba, Father we should all take a lesson from Mary, as we read Your word, as we hear Your voice, and as we are guided by Your Spirit, we should be so bold as to say, "We are Your humble and obedient children, let it be to us according to Your word;" it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

2 Timothy 1:6 - 9 (NKJV)
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Ephesians 1:3 - 5 (NKJV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

Philippians 3:13 & 14 (NKJV)
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

God has a wonderful plan for the lives of each of us and His name is Jesus Christ, we should not waste one precious moment on things of the past, but we should rejoice continually in the hope of His calling - forever in His presence

Abba, Father because we have set our love upon You, because we have known Your name, You have delivered us, honored us, and shown us Your salvation (Psalm 91:14 - 16); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

1 Peter 4:8 & 9 (NKJV)
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

Colossians 3:12 - 14 (NKJV)
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Abba, Father we love You because You first loved us (1 John 4:19) and showed us the way to love one another, may the love of Jesus be evident in us this day and every day forward; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

 Acts 14:8 - 10 (NKJV)
And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking. Paul observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped up and walked.

Acts 9:33 & 34 (NKJV)
There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed." Then he arose immediately.

Jesus said that we who believe in Him will do the works that He did (John 14:12) - Paul and Peter believed Him

Abba, Father in Your strength we can do all things (Philippians 4:13), help us to grow stronger in our faith so that we can be obedient to Your will - Heal the sick (Matthew 10:8); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Titus 3:4 - 7 (NKJV)
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Jesus came to form the forever family of God, we who believe in Jesus, adopted - joint heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:15 - 17 and Ephesians 1:4 & 5) and proclaimed as His family by God Himself (Revelation 21:3)

Abba, Father You gave us Jesus to solidify our relationship with You, You gave us the perfect Lamb, the perfect sacrifice to deliver us from darkness into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom we were redeemed through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins (Colossians 1:13 & 14), created new and made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:17 & 21), forever Your family; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

John 16:33 (NKJV)
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Mark 16: 15 - 18 (NKJV)
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover."

BELIEVE - As we approach the time of the year when we reflect on that wonderful moment when we confessed with our mouths what we believed in our hearts (Romans 10:9) that Jesus is our Lord and Jesus is our Savior, this is a wonderful time to look deep into ourselves, stretch our faith, and simply say, "I DO BELIEVE!"

Abba, Father we who believe that Jesus is Your Son overcome the world, it is our faith in You that gives us victory (1 John 5:1 - 5); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Philippians 3:20 & 21 (NKJV)

Revelation 22:3 - 5 (NKJV)
And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the  Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

Ephesians 2:8 - 10 (NKJV)

Proverbs 3:5 & 6 (NKJV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

John 16:13 (NKJV)
"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

Jude 24 (NKJV)
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

God is the perfect GPS to guide us on our earthly journey, if we misstep, we either forgot to turn Him on or we simply are not listening, but even then when we stumble Jesus is there to pick us up

Abba, Father, what a Father You are. always by our side (Joshua 1:9), always a whisper in our ear (John 14:17), and always our Dad (Romans 8:15 - 17); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1 & 2 (NKJV)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher or our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Matthew 26:39 (NKJV)
He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."

Obedience to the will of our Father builds our faith and leads to joy filled life

Abba, Father may we daily seek to know Your will, to be Your humble and obedient children, and to know the fullness of You; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

John 10:10 (NKJV)

Abundant life comes from keeping your eyes lifted up and moving forward by acting upon the promises of Jesus

Abba, Father Your word is filled with wonderful promise of life to the fullest, may each of us today be purposed to act upon Your promise so that we have Your fullness (Ephesians 3:19), Your love (John 3:16), Your peace (John 16:33), Your joy (John 15:11), Your forgiveness (Colossians1:13 & 14 and the desires of our heart (John 15:7 & 8); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for  these words are true and faithful."

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

There is a beautiful song and the words go something like this, "There is a remedy for all the things of life and His name is Jesus Christ!"

Abba, Father may our vision be clear, may our eyes always be upon You, and may we live each day every day led by Your promise; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Butch and Alma

Yesterday was a strange day, within hours I received the news that two people whom I considered to be friends had died, their earthly journey was complete, their earthly bodies were no more

John 14:6 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

John 3:16 (NKJV)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life."

Alma was a lovely lady, always smiling, always kind, her sweet, sweet spirit always evident, the love of Jesus ever present in all she said and did; when I heard the news there was a moment of sadness but it was quickly replaced with true joy, one more saint has gone home to be forever in the presence of our Father, God Himself will be with Alma and be her God (Revelation 21:3)

Revelation 20:15 (NKJV)
And anyone not found written in the Book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

For the past 23 years Butch had been my customer, I considered Butch a friend and a good customer, as I looked back on the last 23 years Butch and I had many conversations mostly about business peppered with occasional personal antidotes that Butch shared that let me know that when the sun went down Butch could be a little rough around the edges, but the sad, sad thing is that not once in 23 years did I ever share the love of Jesus with Butch and therefore I can only hope that God in His mercy once more covered my weakness

2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not wiling that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Abba, Father forgive my weakness and may I in Your strength grow bolder in sharing the love of Jesus that burns within me; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that I pray. Amen.
