Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
"And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Veterans Day 2014

To all who have served this great country of ours you are loved, admired, appreciated and never forgotten

Matthew 20:28 (NKJV)
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many.

John 12:26 (NKJV)
"If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."

Having the heart of a servant is a choice, Joshua choose to serve God, Jesus choose to serve us, choose Jesus and serve in God's army

Abba, Father just as You choose us in Jesus before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), we choose Jesus and embrace You as our Father forever; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Matthew 14:14 (NKJV)
And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Matthew 14:34 - 36 (NKJV)
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place recognized Him (Jesus), they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.

Jesus is touchable - He loves you and has compassion for you - There is a remedy for all the issues of life and His name is Jesus Christ

Matthew 8:13 (NKJV)
Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

Matthew 9:21 & 22 (NKJV)
For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His (Jesus) garment, I shall be made well." But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter, your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.

It can be your faith or the faith of a friend but it is always faith that activates the miracle - As Pastor John Osteen often said, "Stretch your faith!"

Abba, Father let us lean not on our own understanding but daily let us put our trust and faith in You (Proverbs 3:5); it is in the name of our Lord, our Savior, and our Healer Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Psalm 63:6 - 8 (NKJV)
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You, Your right hand upholds me.

Psalm 103:2 & 3 (NKJV)
Bless the LORD, O my soul; and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.

Psalm 23:6 (NKJV)
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

God referred to David as a man after His own heart; maybe it was because David spent his time singing God's praises

Abba, Father we may not be as gifted as David but one thing each of us can do, lift our eyes to the heavens and proclaim, "Daddy, we are ever so much in love with You;" it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Matthew 8:3 (NKJV)
Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing, be cleansed." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Matthew 8:7 (NKJV)
And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."

Jesus says, "I am willing to heal," and "I will come and heal," it should never be a question but rather a statement of Gospel Truth

Abba, Father with no doubt in our hearts we believe that we receive the things we ask for when we pray (Mark 11:23 & 24); it is in the name of our Lord, our Savior, and our Healer Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:12 & 13 (NKJV)
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

People can be mean and they can be hurtful, but your battle is never with them, you are a beloved child of our Father and when you fight the battle in His strength you are always assured of victory

1 John 5:5 (NKJV)
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Because you believe in Jesus, because He is your Lord and because He is your Savior, you are never the victim, you are always the victor

Abba, Father we are girded with the belt of Your truth, we wear the breastplate of Your righteousness, our feet are shod with Your peace, we walk behind Your shield of faith, on our head is the helmet of Your salvation, and continually surrounding us is the sword of the Spirit, Your Word (Ephesians 6:14 - 17), therefore we stand; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus, He who delivers us from the powers of darkness (Colossians 1:13) that we pray. Amen.

Mark 6:45 & 46 (NKJV)
Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away. And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray.

There are so many good life lessons that Jesus teaches in this one short scripture, here is one - Jesus knew that sometimes He had to get away from all distractions, His disciples, His people, and life in general to be alone with His Father - it is no different for you and I

And now the rest of the story - While Jesus was praying, having a conversation with His Father - His Spirit, His Helper, and our Helper - told Him His disciples were in harms way - Jesus could have done many things - From the mountain top He simply could have spoken a word and all would have been well - But He did not, He walked to the problem - Often it is good to address the problem calmly, thoughtfully and slowly - Often it is best not to take hasty action - When you have problems in life allow the Holy Spirit guide you to the solution - PRAY!

Abba, Father what an awesome Father You are that You have give us a Helper to guide us and direct us through all the pitfalls of life and all we have to do is stop and pray, have a meaningful conversation with our Father; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 2:1 & 2 (NKJV)
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

What can wash away our sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus

Seek righteousness, allow the Holy Spirit to help you understand who you are in Jesus

Abba, Father You have delivered us from the  power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins(Colossians 1:13 & 14); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Isaiah 6:1 - 8 (NKJV)
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the LORD sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple, above it stood seraphim;  each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!" And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of host." Then one of the seraphim flew to me having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs form the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged." Also I heard the voice of the LORD, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

It is time for all who are called by the name of Jesus to stand up, be counted, and proclaim, "Here am I, send me!"

Acts 9:1 - 6 (NKJV)
Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are your persecuting Me?" And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." So he trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do you want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."

On our knees, arms raised high, and eyes lifted up, the question for each of us must be, "Jesus, what would You have me do today?"

Abba, Father, "Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" We, Your humble and obedient children sing each day, we stand ready to serve, ready to be the fulfillment of Your call; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

John 1:1 - 5 (NKJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Daniel 3:23 - 25 (NKJV)
And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king." "Look!" he answered, "I see four men lose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

Matthew 9:23 - 26 (NKJV)
When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said to them, "Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went out into all the land.

Jesus - yesterday, today, and tomorrow - our Savior forever

Abba, Father may the light of Jesus always shine through us, may His life be evident in us, and may HIs words be our proclamation; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 12:1 & 2 (NKJV)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Faith is a peculiar and often misunderstood and misused word, a word that for each of us is worthy of self examination; in our personal relationships are we influenced by people around us or do we accept and walk in His love, His forgiveness, His joy, and His peace; and in our business relationships is all of our conversation and our attention focused on fellow employees, vendors, and customers or do we go boldly before His throne and have a conversation with our Father who makes ways where we can see no way; all day and every day we can choose to believe and that is what pleases our Father and that is what makes us a person of faith.

Abba, Father may we be more like Jesus and simply say, "My _____ is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work." (John 4:34); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:15 - 17 (NKJV)
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified with Him.

Ephesians 1:3 - 5 (NKJV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

God, our Father, who created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), who created us in His image (Genesis 1:26 & 27), chose us. adopted us to be His family; how cool is that.

Abba, Father, to be your children is awesome, but to be your children forever is over the top, may we honor Your favor with our humility and obedience; it is in the name of  our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Isaiah 9:6 & 7 (NKJV)
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder, and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever.

John 3:16 & 17 (NKJV)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

Revelation 19:11 - 16 (NKJV)
"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winpress of fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

And my Father answered, "I have given you every one of My Promises you have ever needed and I will give you every Promise you will ever need, I have given you My Son and because you have chosen to believe in Him it is My greatest joy that you will forever be My son."

Abba Father on bended knee with outstretched arms and uplifted eyes I simply say, "Thank You, thank You for giving me Jesus and it is in His glorious name that I pray today and forever will I pray, Jesus I love You so!" Amen.

Romans 8:38 & 39 (NKJV)
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created things, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul had many, many reasons to question the love of God, but he was persuaded that absolutely nothing could separate him from the love of Jesus.

Abba, Father no matter what the world throws our way, may we always be confident in Your love; Jesus You are our hope, our forever future is tied to You and it is in Your glorious name that we pray. Amen.

Jude 24 (NKJV)

Abba, Father the joy of Jesus is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and all things are possible in His strength (Philippians 4:13), how awesome it is to be in Your family; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Philippians 4:6 & 7 (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:6 & 7 (NKJV)
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

John 14:27 (NKJV)
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

God offers us a worry free life - we simply must trust and believe

Abba, Father Your Son Jesus came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10), and Your Apostle Paul instructed us to seek the prize - Your upward call on our lives in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14), may each of us this day and each day after release our burdens to You (Matthew 11:28) and with eyes lifted high and arms wide open be the fulfillment of Your will for our lives; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Colossians 3:12 - 14 (NKJV)
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Forgiveness Heals - Love Heals

The Fruit of the Holy Spirit - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-control

Abba, Father may we this day and every day be forgiving to one another as we walk in Your love and Your forgiveness; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Psalm 130:5 - 8 (NKJV)
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the LORD more than those who watch for the morning - Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

1 John 3:1 - 3 (NKJV)
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed  on us, that we should be called the children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Always has been and always will be, our hope is in our Father and in His Son, our Lord, our Savior Christ Jesus.

Abba, Father we have been chosen by You and adopted by You (Ephesians 1:3 & 4), we are Your family, our hope is always in Your unfailing love; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Hebrews 13:6 (NKJV)
So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

1 John 4:18 (NKJV)
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Our Father loves us and promises to always be with us, why would we ever be in fear?

Abba, Father Your Son says, "Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world," (John 16:33), our Trust will always be in You, for You will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5 & 6); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:37 - 39 (NKJV)
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing we can do, nothing anyone else can do, keeps God from continually showering us with His love; we can refuse to receive His love, but He is faithful to always show us His love no matter what we say or do.

Abba, Father may our eyes and ears be open and may our hearts be receptive that we will totally accepting of Your love which surrounds us each and every day; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.
