Butch and Alma

Yesterday was a strange day, within hours I received the news that two people whom I considered to be friends had died, their earthly journey was complete, their earthly bodies were no more

John 14:6 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

John 3:16 (NKJV)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life."

Alma was a lovely lady, always smiling, always kind, her sweet, sweet spirit always evident, the love of Jesus ever present in all she said and did; when I heard the news there was a moment of sadness but it was quickly replaced with true joy, one more saint has gone home to be forever in the presence of our Father, God Himself will be with Alma and be her God (Revelation 21:3)

Revelation 20:15 (NKJV)
And anyone not found written in the Book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

For the past 23 years Butch had been my customer, I considered Butch a friend and a good customer, as I looked back on the last 23 years Butch and I had many conversations mostly about business peppered with occasional personal antidotes that Butch shared that let me know that when the sun went down Butch could be a little rough around the edges, but the sad, sad thing is that not once in 23 years did I ever share the love of Jesus with Butch and therefore I can only hope that God in His mercy once more covered my weakness

2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not wiling that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Abba, Father forgive my weakness and may I in Your strength grow bolder in sharing the love of Jesus that burns within me; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that I pray. Amen.
