Luke 1:76 - 79 (NKJV)
And you child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

The Holy Spirit inspired prophecy of Zacharias over his newborn son John the Baptist

Colossians 1:10 - 15 (NKJV)
That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might according to His glorious power, for all patience and long suffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Paul's prayer for the children of God, we have been delivered from the power of darkness, we are children of the Light, we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus, forgiven of our sins - we are the fulfillment of the prophecy of Zacharias

Abba Father when we meditate on Your great love simple words fail to convey the awesomeness of belonging to You; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 5:1 & 2 (NKJV)
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Titus 2:11 - 14 (NKJV)
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Abba Father it gives You great joy for Jesus to present us to You at the end of our earthly journey faultless (Jude 24), so that You may welcome us home as good and faithful servants (Matthew 25:21); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Psalm 13:5 & 6 (NKJV)
But I have trusted in Your mercy, my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Lamentations 3:22 & 23 (NKJV)
Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion's fail not, they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Abba Father You are good all the time and all the time You are good; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV)
For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
Fear not, for I am with you: be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Philippians 4:6 & 7 (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Abba Father You are peace, You are truth, in Your strength nothing is impossible for us, in You we have no fear, You are compassion, You are love, in You we overcome, and in You we "Can Do"; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Proverbs 3:1 & 2 (NKJV)
My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.

Psalm 1:1 - 3 (NKJV)
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

John 14:15 - 17 (NKJV)
"If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever -  the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you."

Abba Father Your Word is alive and lives in us, Your Spirit is truth and daily guides our paths, we are Your humble and obedient children rejoicing today, tomorrow, and forever in Your commandments; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray.

God is Not Dead

Acts 7:55 (NKJV)
But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"

Stephen was willing to die rather than deny his Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; we like the young man in the movie should be willing to testify the love, forgiveness, joy, peace, and strength that lives within us in the face of the darkness of the world, our faith in God must never waver.

Abba Father Your love of us never changes, our faith in You must remain Rock solid; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Psalm 62:5 - 7 (NKJV)
My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectations come from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

What ever the world throws your way, let your words be this:

"I will not be moved, God is my rock, my defense, my strength, my refuge, I am an overcomer in His strength."

Psalm 71:1 - 5 (NKJV)
In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; incline Your ear to me, and save me. Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, for You are my rock and fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For you are my hope, O LORD GOD; You are my trust from my youth.

Delivered from evil (Matthew 6:13), saved and redeemed from the power of darkness Colossians 1:13 & 14), our trust forever in God our Father

Mark 11:22 (NKJV)
So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God."

Abba Father today and every day forever more our faith in You grows stronger as we feed upon Your word, Your truth; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV)
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

In His strength we can do all things (Philippians 4:13)

1 John 5:4 & 5 (NKJV)
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

He is the King of kings, He is the Lord of lords, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess (Philippians 2:9 - 11) the Name above all other names - Jesus!

Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

Abba Father we are Your children, adopted into Your family, joint heirs with Jesus, in You the impossible becomes common place as we stretch our faith and place our trust in You; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Psalm 91:14 - 16 (NKJV)
"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation."

God makes this promise when we say:

Psalm 91:2 (NKJV)
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in him I will trust."

Ephesians 1:3 - 5 (NKJV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

Blessed, Chosen, Holy, Blameless, Loved, Adopted, Family - We receive all this when we say, "I make  Jesus Christ my Lord and my Savior."

Abba Father You are Hope, You are Promise, You are our Father, and we are Your beloved children; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Titus 2:11 - 15 (NKJV)
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for  the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

God's own special people created new (2 Corinthians 5:17) in Jesus for good works - May someone recognize the Jesus in you today

Romans 8:26 (NKJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Jesus is love, Jesus is forgiveness, Jesus is joy, and Jesus is peace - and so are you - do not keep it a secret

Abba Father we sing Your praises and bow before You with obedient and thankful hearts, may the evidence of our lives be a light into darkness and a magnet unto You; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

John 14:26 & 27 (NKJV)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name. He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Faith erases fear, we have a Helper who teaches us all things and when we know all things there is no fear

Philippians 4:11 - 13 (NKJV)
Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

It is no wonder that Paul and Silas could pray and sing hymns to God at midnight (Acts 16:25) after being whipped and beaten all day, they knew the Helper and He had taught them all things - they truly could do all things through Christ who gave them strength.

Abba Father may we receive Your Spirit, may we be open Your teaching, may we understand Your fullness, and may we grow strong in Your power; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Abba Father how awesome it is that You never change, Your Word is Forever the Truth, and as my good friend Joe once said, all the rest is just a bunch of senseless noise, we will rejoice today, tomorrow, and forever that You are our Father and we are Your humble and obedient children forever in the service of our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in whose mighty name we pray. Amen.

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Have faith in God

Know who He is and who you are

Seek Him with your whole heart

1 John 4:15 & 16 (NKJV)
Whoever confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Because we know the love of Jesus, we know the fullness of God

Abba Father because we know and confess Jesus is your Son, we are Your beloved children, adopted into Your family, holy and righteous in Your sight, made pure by the blood of Jesus; it is in the name of our Lord, our Savior, and our Redeemer Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Psalm 40:1 - 3 (NKJV)
I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth - praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the LORD.

No matter how tragic the choices a person has made, no matter how dire the circumstances of life have become, God never gives up on us, His love for us never fails (Romans 8:38 & 39), He still has a plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11) and He still calls us to a higher purpose ( Philippians 3:14), our task is to look to Him and to trust in Him.

Luke 15:20 (NKJV)
"And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him."

For many years I missed this critical verse, the father did not start searching for the son the day he came back, he had been searching for the son ever since he left. Our heavenly Father is the same way, no matter how far away we drift, tossed about by the seas of life, God is always searching for us, eager for our return, desiring nothing more than to pour out His love upon us.

Jude 24 (NKJV)
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

The objective is the same for each of us, to complete our earthly journey, to spend eternity in the presence of God, and Jesus walks with us every step of the way, our successful completion is His greatest joy (Matthew 28:20).

Abba Father we are so thankful for Your love, that nothing can keep You from loving us, nothing of this world can keep us from Your compassionate embrace, Your strong right arm, Your grace; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Mark 9:23 & 24 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!"

We all often find ourselves in similar situations, we all want to believe, but our adult mind is cluttered with circumstantial evidence to the contrary; faith is believing what God has said, not what you have seen, God's word is truth, and Jesus has given each of us the Holy Spirit, the revealer of His truth; listen to Him (John 14:16 & 17).

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

To grow in faith we must know who God is and understand and accept our relationship with Him, God is our Father and we are His beloved children, joint heirs with Jesus, adopted into His family, and there is no earthly need that God can not and will not provide, Jesus came so that we would have life and life in abundance (John 10:10).

Abba Father may our eyes be forever fixed on You and may our hearts always be receptive to Your word, Your truth, You are our ever present help in times of need; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Colossians 3:1 - 3 (NKJV)
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

1 John 2:1 & 2 (NKJV)
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

3 John 2 (NKJV)
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Every day we are bombarded with worldly thoughts that life gets better with ______; and all of us can fill in the blank, a new house, new furniture, a new car, new golf clubs, new clothes, drugs both prescription and non, etc; but the truth is simple, life gets better with Jesus, His words and His thoughts.

Abba Father may we every day be filled with Your thoughts and Your words and may we daily be guided by Your truth; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Romans 8:2 - 6 (NKJV)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

John 1:1 - 4 (NKJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 14:27 (NKJV)
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Life is a choice not chance, choose Jesus.

Abba Father Your love for us abounds in the person of Your Son, may our ears be attentive to Your Word as our heart is receptive to the truth of Your promise; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Hebrews 10:21 - 23 (NKJV)
And having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope, without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

We have been delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13) by Jesus who came that we would have life and that we would have it more abundantly (John 10:10); chose Jesus, everyday and all day, chose Jesus.

Psalm 27:13 & 14 (NKJV)
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; be of good courage; and He shall strengthen your hearts; wait, I say, on the LORD!

God is our Father and we are His children and we can come boldly before Him confident that we will obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Abba Father we are eternally thankful for Your Son Jesus who taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven," (Matthew 6:10), our fleshly fear has been replaced forever by our spiritual faith in You and Your faithful promise; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

John 14:27 (NKJV)
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart  be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

John 16:33 (NKJV)
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Matthew 11:28 - 30 (NKJV)
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

The world in which we live is most certainly not a rose garden and daily we are confronted with trials and tribulations that test our faith, but in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we have His promise of daily peace and comfort, His promise of victory over the world and all of its wickedness, His promise of rest for the weary and hope of a better tomorrow, and His promise that His greatest joy is the presentation of us faultless before God at the completion of our earthly journey (Jude 24).

Abba Father we thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ, He is Your promise to us of victory over the world, He is our peace (1 John 5:4 & 5); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.
