Matthew 14:25 - 31 (NKJV)
Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer it is I; do not be afraid." AndPeter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying "Lord, save me!" And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

Jesus asks us the same question when an unexpected storm enters our life and instead of going to Jesus in prayer we begin to focus on the problem

Mark 8:27 -29 (NKJV)
Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Phillippyi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, "Who do men say that I am?" So they answered, "John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said to Him, "You are the Christ."

An important question for each of us to answer, "Who is Jesus to me."

Luke 22:31-34 (NKJV)
And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to me, strengthen your brethren." Then He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you deny three times that you know Me."

How wonderful it is that Jesus prays for us - John 17:20

Luke 22:59 - 62 (NKJV)
Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, "Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean." But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying!" Immediately, while he was speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times." So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

For those who truly believe - Sin is painful - But thank you Jesus - You forgive us and You love us

John 21:15 - 17 (NKJV)
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs!" He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord, You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep." He said to him a third time, "Simon, son of Jonah do you love Me?" Peter was grieved  because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things: You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep."

Never, never tire of telling Jesus how much you love Him, show Him your love by caring for His family

Acts 3:2 - 8 (NKJV)
And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple, who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us."So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them - walking leaping and praising God.

Peter took the words of Jesus as the Gospel Truth (John 14:12) - Should not we do the same?

Acts 9:32 - 34 (NKJV)
Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had  been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed." Then he arose immediately. So all who dwelt a t Lydda and Sharon saw him and  turned to the Lord.

Peter understood that Jesus was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with power and that He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38) and He knew that he could call on Jesus to continue to heal those in need (Hebrews 13:8)

Abba, Father how I love how You use the less than perfect (Peter) to do perfect works, I pray that each of us grow strong in the spiritual understanding that Your words are truth and Your perfection comes when we, the imperfect, speak Your truth, the Apostle Paul said it clearly when he said, "Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13 & 14); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus who both loves us and forgives us that we rejoice and pray. Amen.
