Romans 5:6 - 11 (NKJV)
For when we were still without strength in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet perhaps for a good man someone would dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath by Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Before He went to the Cross, Jesus fell upon His face and prayed these words, " "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." (Matthew 26:39)

And as He hung upon the Cross, battered and beaten, evidence of all the evil the world could muster, Jesus spoke these words, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (Luke 23:34) And just before His last breath, Jesus spoke, "It is finished!" (John 19:30) Job complete, Mission Accomplished.

When He was on the Cross not only were we on His mind but we were His purpose.

Abba Father when we read and meditate upon Your word the only thing worth doing is to say Thank You, thank You for Your love, thank You for Your forgiveness, thank You for Jesus, thank You for being our Father; it is in the name of our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that we pray. Amen.
