John 1:4 & 5 (NKJV)
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
 
Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12), He is the revealer of evil and the destroyer of darkness, it is the devil, the master deceiver, who slinks around in the darkness purposed to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and the good news is God gave each of the ability to choose between life and death - Choose this day Jesus.

Abba, Father we have chosen Jesus, we accept and embrace Your love, Your humble and obedient children, forever; it is in the name of our Lord, our Savior, and our Healer Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.
