Proverbs 16:18 - 20 (NKJV)

Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.

 

1 Peter 5:6 & 7 (NKJV)

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He might exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you.

 

Proverbs 3:5 & 6 (NKJV)

Trust in the LORD with all you heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

 

Many of our troubles come when we think we have a better plan
