Mark 8:34 & 35 (NKJV)
When He had called the people to Himself with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it."
Following Jesus in today's world with all of its issues and distractions, not to mention the evil which abounds can be difficult, but Jesus gives us a Helper (John 14:16 & 17), a guide (John 16:13) and a promise to always keep us upright (Jude 24)
Galatians 5:22 - 25 (NKJV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
And life's journey with Jesus is so very, very much better
Abba, Father may our daily walk be pleasing in Your sight and may we daily be about Your work, but if and when we stumble and stray we thank You for Your Spirit who both corrects and guides us back to the correct path; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.
