Outreach to Israel March 18-28, 2017

Outreach to Israel March 18-28, 2017 by Douglas Raine

My wife, LaVerne, and I joined the World Mission Alliance Team of 32 evangelists from all over the USA in Tel Aviv. Our mission was to minister the Gospel in northern Israel. Our team was led by Chuck and Helen Todd. We traveled to a B & B, Spa Gross, located in Kiryat Shmona, Israel. We met with Pastors, Israel Illuz and Adil Sapir, that would serve as our guides.

Kiryat Shmona (Hebrew: קִרְיַת שְׁמוֹנָה‎, lit. Town of the Eight) is a city located in the Northern District of Israel on the western slopes of the Hula Valley near the Lebanese border has a population of 23,076.

We met with Pastor Israel for evangelism training, and he shared his testimony. Attached are three hundred sixty five Messianic prophecies from the Old Covenant and fulfilled in the New Covenant in the person of Yahushua (Jesus).

We were given the opportunity to prayer walk about a one mile square area and share the love of God with residents. This was a farming community with beautiful orchards. The people were friendly. Several people asked about our opinion of President Trump. Israel needs the USA as an ally. This area has been rocket attacked by the PLO and Hezbollah. A total of 1, 012 Katyusha rocket hit Kiryat Shmona over the last two decades.

We traveled to the Golan Heights and received eye witness accounts of the “Six-Day War” between Israel and its Arab neighbors which ended with the United Nations-brokering a cease-fire. Israel doubled their territory with the greatest fruit of victory in seizing the old city of Jerusalem from Jordan. Details of the war are on the Internet. Israel was out numbered ten to one, but with God as their commander victory was assured.

We met with Mayor Nissim Malka, some city council members, and government staff personnel in Kiryat Shmona. They presented an impressive list of goals and strategies to grow the city.

That evening we met with Jewish Russians at the Veterans Community Center. Many of the men and women served in WWII. One million five hundred thousand Jews served in the Red Army with 1/3 of the soldiers and airmen losing their lives. Their testimonies brought tears to my eyes. Some veterans were highly decorated. One airman flew a B-25 Mitchell bomber and thanked America for the plane.

One man shared the horrors of the 872 day “Siege of Leningrad (St. Petersburg), also known as the Leningrad Blockade. Food supplies were destroyed by the German Army. He was a young boy. His father had been killed, and his mother worked in a factory. The Russians had eaten all the dogs and cats, and were looking for young children to eat. His mother hid him every day to keep him from being eaten.

We were invited to minister to the Russians veterans. That was an incredible blessing.

The next day we went to the City of Tiberius which was located on the Sea of Galilee. We boarded Captain Daniel Carmel boat and launched out to sea. We enjoyed Daniel’s testimony and worship music. Please click on: http://fgbt.org/Testimonies/daniel-carmel-story.html.

Two days were spent in the City of Jerusalem. Our tour guide Roman did a great job. I was also blessed to meet with my old friend Hoveek who was working on translations of the Psalms at Hebrew University.

We were able to build relationships with team members, guides, and share the love of God with people in the marketplace.

Blessings, Douglas Raine
