1 John 5:14 & 15 (NKJV)

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

How do we know that when we pray we are asking according to God's will for our lives, one sure fire way is to always align your request with scripture, but then that would require that we spend time each day reading, studying, and meditating on God's Word, not a bad idea.

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

This Book of the Law shall not depart from you mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

Abba, Father you have given us Your Word filled with Your instruction and Your promise, may we daily spend time soaking in Your truth, may Your words be our words and fill our heart to overflowing, may Your peace be our peace, may Your joy be our joy, and may Your love and forgiveness be evident in all that we do; it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.
