Fellowship Newsletter November 2016

"Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving" Colossians 4:2

We come into this season of thanksgiving in a year that has given us a bittersweet sensitivity to life.  Bitter in the sense that our hearts have been saddened by the loss of very dear Fellowship family members. Sweet because we know they are home and in the presence of the Lord, waiting for us.  But we will not be dissuaded; we shall declare this is the day the Lord has made!  We will boldly enter His gates with thanksgiving and we will enter His courts with praise.

Thanksgiving Day, celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, is observed as a day for national thanksgiving and prayer. Originally, the Pilgrims came together to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It was a time for great meals, fellowship among friends and family.  Things haven't changed much except families now gather for a feast, some football and then on to the mall.  But we can't forget, we will not forget, Thanksgiving is a day of giving thanks to God for our blessings and our freedom of worship.

Thanksgiving Day and every day in fact, is a time to meditate on the goodness and faithfulness of God in our life, family, job and ministry. We most especially need the Lord's covering, individually and corporately, as we move forward in His Vision for Full Gospel America.  For that we need a solid foundation.

We're continuing to build on what our leaders before us laid, but  the logistics of the transition to the Texas headquarters has been a bit more challenging.  A key element missing is Peter Reding, founding Administrator and Treasurer, who easily dedicated 40-50 hours a week in the 'running' of the Fellowship.

The reconstruction of the website is on pace to be complete all, by the first of the year.  All in all, we're pressing into our goal of  serving our members more effectively and promptly.

So, as your family gathers this week, please consider praying  for:

> Full Gospel America- that we hear clearly from the Lord for direction

> Reaching all segments of the Joshua Generation

> Our Leadership Team- who devotes many hours of volunteer service unto the Lord through the Fellowship

> Georgia Men's Advance January 20-22 (National in scope)

> Full Gospel Global Forum January 26-28, Abuja, Nigeria

> National Directors meeting February 17 & 18, Grapevine, Texas

> Marketplace Outreaches being planned in America

> FGBMFA National Convention July 6-8 (Bonus Day July 5), Grapevine, Texas

> Unity for our Nation in a perilous time.

It is our solemn duty as followers of Jesus Christ; when we pray, we must do so with a pure heart that will be an expression of God's love for all people. If this is true [and it is!] we cannot be critical of outgoing or incoming leadership in America. Doing so speaks against God's plan for our nation- words for which we will be held accountable. Our words, whether in prayer or casual conversation, reveals the condition of the person's heart.  We must be watchful that we do not poison the air around us.  We are children of The Living God, and the power of life and death is in our tongue... speak life!

The following prayer points were authored by Bob Bignold in 2010 and distributed to the "Faithful Twelve", a group of men he called into active prayer warfare.  We still stand in faith believing! Pray that God will touch the hearts of men in Full Gospel America to pray for a spiritual awakening in our Fellowship...

> Father, pour out a fresh move of Your Holy Spirit on our Fellowship

> Holy Spirit, move with us against the prayerless spirit that holds the church and the men of our Fellowship in spiritual bondage

> Lord, move upon the men of our Fellowship! Bring them to their knees

> Father, re-establish your banner of love over our Fellowship

> Father, move us powerfully into the future

> Father, give us wisdom and understanding

> Father, raise up men with a passion to serve

> Father, send us leaders with a commitment to lead and a desire to mentor

> Father, give us the men of the Joshua Generation

> Father, bring us laborers for the harvest

> Father, give us insight for carrying out Your mandate

> Father, deliver the finances for the work ahead

> Father, as we rest in your favor, we thank you for answering our prayers in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord

On behalf of the FGBMFA Leadership Team, we pray the Lord bless you with His divine health, prosperity and honor.  May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Have a Blessed, Happy Thanksgiving Day.  Roy Brian  Interim National President Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in America
