GOD'S PLAN OF PROSPERITY FOR YOU#1

What does the Bible have to say about prosperity?

*************************

Let's get started first with a good.

Bible definition of prosperity

"Prosperity is a blessed state of having the resources and ability to accomplish God's will in all areas of your life.

Your Health, Your School, Your Family, Your relationships, and Your Finances"

************

We need to get a few things real clear right away

1. God is a good God and wants you to prosper.

2. God is for you, not against you.

3. He has set out principals and guidelines in His word to lead us into the abundant prosperity He has for us.

In 3 John 1:2 The great apostle John after all his years of following Jesus and serving Him said, "Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers"

*****************

In John 10:10 Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly".

******************

In Psalm 84:11 God said thru King David

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly."

**************

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of verses of scripture telling us that God wants to bless us in this life

It is our job to discover these scriptures, (promises), learn what the conditions are to receive them. (the promises)

Get in on God's great plan of prosperity for your life.

Here is a very good example of what I am talking about

In Psalm 1: 1- 3 it says;

"Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; (the Bible) and in his law (the Bible) he meditates day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season. his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper".

*****************

Notice the conditions to receive the promise of "whatsoever he does shall prosper"

1. This person is not hanging around with people that don't want to serve God (the ungodly, sinners, scornful)

2. He is DELIGHTING in the Lord.

·         How do you delight in the Lord? read your bible, pray, go to church.

·         Learn to commune with God and develop a very personal relationship just like you would with a friend or spouse.

·         You can't see Him but He will reveal Himself to you as you spend time seeking Him

******************

Now notice the results of doing this

1. STRENGTH "tree planted by rivers of water"

2. PROSPERITY in "what ever you do"

      ***********

Here is another example

In Joshua 1:8 it says; "This book of the law (bible) shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success".

Note the condition and the promise

MEDITATE (your part) to learn what to do

SUCCESS FOR YOU (God's part)

*********************

·         Do you want to prosper?

·         Would you like better grades in school?

·         Would you like more favor from your boss at work?

·         Would you like a better relationship with your parents, spouse, or friends?

·         Would you like better health?

·         Would you like more peace, freedom from fear or worry?

·         Would you like better control of your money, or more money, or a better job or business?

These are all benefits of getting in on God's great plan of prosperity for your life.

Start spending more time giving yourself to God.

·         Read your Bible

·         Pray more often

·         Go to church regularly

·         Bless other people and

·         Believe God's word

Matthew 6:33 says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Read the whole chapter of Matthew 6 to see what "all these things" are

*****************

James 4:8 says "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you".
