The Road to Damascus

Acts 9:3 - 6 (NKJV)
As he (Saul) journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" And he (Saul) said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." So he (Saul), trembling and astonished, said , "Lord, what do you want me to do?

What road are you on? Is it time for you to ask Jesus if He has a better plan for your life?

Philippians 3:12 -14 (NKJV)
"Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected: but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Jesus uses those of us who are less than perfect to do His perfect work

Paul urges each of us to shift our focus from the past and look forward and upward - Jesus has  a wonderful plan for our lives and great work for us to do in His kingdom

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

Paul knew in his spirit that Jesus had made us the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus) (2 Corinthians 5:21) - we are His (Jesus) ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20) - we are holy and without blame (Ephesians 1:4) - Jesus presents us faultless to our Father (Jude 24)

The devil is a liar and does not deserve our attention

Happy Thanksgiving

1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 (NKJV)
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Life looks a lot better when you have a "Thankful" spirit in your heart

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Paul made this statement after he said above, "Not that I speak in regard to need for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and  to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." (Philippians 4:11 & 12)

Paul understood that "Jesus Christ is the same Yesterday, today, and tomorrow," (Hebrews 13:8) and that no matter what his worldly circumstance He was ABLE because he knew to "Have faith in God!" (Mark 11:22)

Ephesians 1:15 - 19 (NKJV)
Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His mighty power.

Paul understood that we must have revelation knowledge of the love of Christ in order to be filled with the fullness of God our Father (Ephesians 3:19)

Paul knew that God our Father is ABLE to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think according to His (Holy Spirit) power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20)

Acts 16:16 - 18 (NKJV)
Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation." And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he (the evil spirit) came out that very hour.

Paul was obedient to the words of Jesus - "Most assuredly I tell you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14:12)

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you come out of  him and enter him no more!" (Mark 9:25)

Acts 16:19, 22, 23, 24, & 25 (NKJV)
But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the market place to the authorities....Then the multitude rose up against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods. And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying ans singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

Many years before this, God our Father spoke these words to Joshua - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

Paul knew this and look what happened - An earthquake opened the doors of the prison and the chains of the prisoners were released, but Paul told the jailer that all the prisoners did not escape, the jailer was moved and asked Paul how he could be saved and Paul replied, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." And they were (Acts 16:26 - 34)

Acts 28:8 & 9 (NKJV)
And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed and he laid his hands on him and healed him. So when this was done, the rest of those on the island who had diseases, also came and were healed.

Once again Paul was obedient to the words of Jesus, "They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover."(Mark 16:18)

Galatians 5:16 18 (NKJV)
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led  by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

What the world needs today, tomorrow, and forever is Jesus - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22 & 23)

There is a remedy for every ill in life and His name is Jesus Christ

Abba, Father for this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for all our brothers and sisters in Christ, and to ask that they may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that they may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9 & 10); it is in the name of our Lord and our Savior Christ Jesus that we with thankful hearts rejoice and pray. Amen.
